How to Plan a Stag Weekend
One of your best buds is getting married and you’ve been asked to stand next to him as his Best Man. The first item on your agenda is to plan a Stag Night for you, the groom and his closest male friends.
Wherever you decide to wreak havoc for the groom’s last stab at irresponsible freedom, book your stay in budget hotels. You’ll have more spending money to use on food, activities and entertainment when you pay a low price for a room. After all, on a good Stag Night you won’t be doing much more than sleeping in your room. You don’t need anything fancy when you’ll be out partying all night.
You can’t plan a Stag Night without a bunch of guys. Get together ten of the groom’s closest male friends and family members. The amount of people attending the Stag Night will largely depend on the activity. If the groom wants to go out to bars all night, then you can take along as many people as you want. However, if you’re planning a whitewater rafting trip, you may want to limit the guests to ten or less.
Try to plan the Stag Night for two weeks before the wedding. The bride and groom will have a lot of last-minute wedding planning to take care of and taking him away from his responsibilities right before the wedding day can spark problems. Plus, if the groom shaves his head, gets a sunburn or twists his ankle during his Stag Night, there will be a window of time to take care of everything before the big day.
The biggest part of planning the Stag Night is figuring out how much it will cost and how to pay for it. The groom shouldn’t pay any of the bill. Instead, every attendee should take on some part of the expense.
